The Library will be closed on Good Friday, Easter Monday and the May Bank Holiday Mondays.

Joining the Library

SMC students registered at the SMC Barrow site or on placement with Morecambe Bay Hospitals NHS Trust may join the Library. Please contact the Librarian.

The pilot P2P: Passport to Partnership scheme enables all SMC staff and students to join and borrow from any Morecambe Bay Hospitals NHS Trust library. Please ask for an application form in your SMC library.

Loans

15 Normal loan books 4 weeks
Short loan books 7 Days
Reference books - reference only
Periodicals - 1 week for unrestricted periodicals
Replacement cost is charged for lost books.
Fines are charged for late books.

Reservations

Three per user at any one time. They may be made by telephone, letter or fax.

Renewals

Three, subject to reservation by other users. They may be made by telephone, letter or fax.

Intersite loans

Books available in St Martin's Library may be borrowed via the intersite loan system. Please ask the Site Librarian for details.

Photocopied articles service

Articles in journals not held at the Library may be obtained from other libraries. Please complete an article request form and sign the copyright declaration. There is a charge for this service.

Interlibrary loans

Items not in stock may be obtained from other libraries. Please complete a book request form. A charge is made per item.

Photocopying

Photocopying facilities are available. All users should check the copyright guidelines displayed by the photocopier. Users need a card to operate the photocopier. Please ask the librarian for details.
