Neuro-Linguistic programming and Transactional Analysis. Challenge, comfort zones and emotional safety.  Self-esteem, image and identity.  Interests, attitudes and values.  Active listening.

The Planning and Evaluation of Outdoor Experiences

23 - 27 April 2007

Planning models. Leadership models. Metaphorical planning.  Planning and evaluation in practice.  Application of leading, instructing, teaching, coaching and facilitation styles.  Approaches to session evaluation.

The Management of Safety Outdoors

18-22 June 2007

The philosophy of risk/safety management.  Models & significant case histories.  Safety structures and systems.  Writing policy documents, safety frameworks and reports.  Safety management and the law.  Child protection; employee protection.

Physiological Issues in Outdoor Education

16 - 18 May and 21 - 22 May 2007

Simple anatomy.  The human energy balance.  Diet & nutrition. Basic physiological response to environmental extremes of temperature.  Energy expenditure, equipment and physiology.  Training.  Basic treatment of miscellaneous conditions common in the outdoors. NB: This course includes significant physical activity.

Delivery of each module is Monday to Friday, 9.00- 5.00, for one week with written assessment due two weeks after the end of the module.

Each module is worth 15 credits and may be used as APL (accreditation of prior learning) for entry into Higher Education.

Modules are non-residential and cost £150 each.

Digital Media for Creative Teaching and Learning

Students learning through the use of digital video and podcasting are fantastic ways to inject some fun and creativity into the classroom. This one-day workshop shows you how.
