Sport and Exercise Science - DipHE/BSc (Hons)
Location: Lancaster

This popular degree course offers you a challenging, interesting and rewarding three-year programme of study with good prospects of subsequent employment. The course is designed to promote knowledge and skills related to the scientific study of sport and exercise.

Sport Studies and Sport Development – DipHE/BA (Hons)
Sport Studies and Sport History – DipHE/BA (Hons)

The Sport Studies course team at St Martin's believes that it can offer you the experience of a lifetime. If you choose to study at St Martin's you will be taught by staff who are exceptionally well qualified in their subject areas and in groups small enough to ensure that you have the opportunity to get to know your peers and the course team. In addition, you will be coming to a School with excellent facilities and which was rated 'excellent' for its teaching, learning, student achievement and care of its students in the Quality Assurance Agency's inspection. You will be able to study Sport Studies on its own or in combination with Sport Development or with Sport History.

Coaching and Sport Performance – DipHE/BA (Hons)

Location: Lancaster

These two new degrees offer students the exciting opportunity to study Coaching with a specialism in either Sport Performance or Sport Development. You will be taught by coaches with national reputations in Football and Athletics,. The degrees focus on the links between theory and practice and enable you to gain work experience in either Sport Performance or Sport Development.

This degree programme offers you a challenging, interesting and rewarding three-year programme of study with good prospects of subsequent employment. The programme is designed to promote knowledge and skills relating to the study of Physical Education, Sport Development and Health Development and offers the opportunity to follow a specific career pathway in either health-related exercise or sport development, or teaching physical education (via a 4th-year postgraduate (PGCE) route in Secondary or Primary schools).

Outdoor Studies - BSc/BA (Hons)
Location: Ambleside

The outdoors is becoming an increasingly important part of people's personal and professional lives; career opportunities and professional pathways are opening up every day in the fields of environmental study, education, development training, outdoor skills training, leisure and recreation. This innovative 3 year degree combines academic and practical study of the outdoors to meet personal and professional development needs and aspirations.

Foundation Degree in Outdoor Studies
(Full-time or Part-time)

Location: Ambleside

Foundation Degrees are new initiatives to combine academic study with vocational relevance. Key points:

* 2 years full-time or 3-5 years part-time. The chance to 'earn and learn'
* Entrance requirements of one A2/ACVE/'A' Level + GCSE Maths and English. Mature students over 21 are welcomed with experience and non-standard qualifications
* Partnership with the Outward Bound Trust
* Placements in outdoor centres and other outdoor and environmental organisations
* The School of Sport and Outdoor Studies has a good record of employment and links in the outdoor industry.
